...if we treated our Book of Mormon like we treat our cell phones?
What if we carried it around in our purses or pockets?
What if we turned back to go get it if we forgot it?
What if we flipped through it several times a day?
What if we spent an hour or more using it everyday?
What if we used it to receive messages from the "text"?
What if we treated it like we couldn't live without it?
What if we gave it to kids as gifts?
What if we used it as we traveled?
What if we used it in case of an emergency?
Oh, and a few more things-
Unlike our cell phones, one Plan fits all.
Unlimited usage.
No roaming charges.
You always have reception.
No weak signals AND we don't ever have to worry about our Book of Mormon being disconnected because our Savior has already paid the bill!

The Laurel Advisor passed this out at the end of her lesson today and it really got me thinking. I've really been slacking off on my studying, and I DO wonder how my life would change if I treated the scriptures like my cell phone. Despite my busy day, I still manage to check my cell phone during my morning break, lunch break, and at the end of the day. I call family on my way home from work. It would be nice to see an uplifting message from the scriptures that many times a day instead of the disappointment that no one has called or texted yet.
My new goal is to try to get the scriptures on my iPod (somehow, because they don't have them on itunes yet, and I don't have an iPhone) to listen to on the way to school or on the way home. Or at least download and listen to Conference talks to keep the Spirit with me. There are so many ways to increase my scripture study everyday if I just take a few minutes to make the effort. I love this gospel. I know that it is true because I have read the Book of Mormon and received confirmation that it is indeed the Word of God. I know that it will be worth the effort if I can come home with a smile on my face because I have just been uplifted by the scriptures instead of distracted by the problems of my day. Adam will surely thank me for it as well.
So, THINK ABOUT IT! What's your new goal??
